Let your hair drift off in the wind

Nowadays, everyone worries about something. Money. Health. Family. Work. Friends. Past. Present. Future. It seems like a world full of worries.

“Well, life is hard,” you say. “How could we not worry?”

I don’t argue. Life can get tough sometimes. But I cannot help but wondering: if we worry so much about so many things, what does not worrying feel like?

To me, not worrying feels like letting my hair drift off. All I need is a sunny day and air in my lungs. I love the wind blowing my hair yet caressing my face. It feels rough but familiar at the same time. I consciously choose to let the warmth of the day invade me. I feel light yet strong. I feel melancholic yet happy. I often find myself smiling for no apparent reason. I just am. The wind, my hair, and I. That’s it.

No worries.

No sadness.

No pressure.

Mind you, I have short hair but that doesn’t stop me. If you have short hair too—or even no hair at all—don’t be discouraged. You can still enjoy the airy feeling of the wind on your face. Choose a spot you prefer. It can be the park, a hill, even the busiest street in town. Then stop for five minutes and face the wind. If you can, close your eyes too. It’s a moment of stillness of your own being while you feel the movement of life around you.

The wind knows many stories, many secrets, but it carries them away. The negative feelings, the fears, the anger, they are all blown away by the wind. It’s us, people, who give heaviness to our worries. But when we allow to give our worries away to the wind, we become strong and our worries become light.

It’s an exchange of powers. Our worries float away because they don’t have true heaviness. We stay anchored because we’re stronger.

Letting your hair drift off is an experience. The wind has the power to strengthen you. And your worries lose their power.

All you have to do is be still and focus on the carefree moment itself. Let the wind do the rest.

Next time you feel overwhelmed with worries, let your hair drift off or simply face the wind. It’s liberating.

Have you tried this method? If so, I’d love to hear about it. Don’t hesitate to leave message or connect with me on Facebook. I’m a sucker for listening to uplifting experiences and moments in other peoples’ lives.
